One of the fine writers on Foxsports has Cheeks as the first coach to
be fired and Reggie Evans as the worst starter in the league
http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/7379172. On the other hand, this
guy does write for Fox so take it for what it's worth.

If Reggie Evans is the worst starter this year, what does that make Steven
Hunter last year?

The worst starter in the NBA this year is going to be one of those
nonentities currently on the Celtics' bench who is forced to become the
starter when one of the Old Three gives out. Who will be first? :-)

Boston's bench seems to have been filled out decently enough, and
could get better if the rumors that Juwan Howard will sign there are
true. Glancing at their roster, there seem to be at least four
players--James Posey, Eddie House, Tony Allen, and Glen Davis--who I
would happily see on the Sixers given the current roster, say in place
of Green, Ollie, Randolph, and Amundson. And that's not counting
their two other rookies, Powe and Pruitt, who I don't really know
anything about. Now as far as nonentities go, Miami's bench seems
pretty negligible.

I suspect that unless things get 1973-bad Cheeks will probably last
the year if for no other reason than that he would be too connected
now to King's supposed master plan and King won't want to give any
more completely obvious reasons why he should be fired himself.
Especially after the firing of all King's previous coaches, I imagine
the team will let Cheeks' contract expire and offer him some token job
in management.

O'Brien, worst hire in Sixers history - Totally cluless. The Sixers aren't even competing now, it's sad.

Alonzo Mourning - Even with his kidney condition, I'd take a chance and sign him. Even if he has to be restricted to 24 - 30 minutes a night, fine, grab him. We can fill the rest of the center minutes with Dalembert and Coleman (or if the Sixers are very lucky,..

Sixers set their sights low - According to the Inky this morning, the Sixers are looking to sign a free agent center! Alonzo Mourning? Noooooo. They are looking at Andrew DeClerq and Marc Jackson. Bleeaaaaaaahhhh. Go for 'Zo! ----- Kurt Straub
