What did everybody think of it? I personally was shocked that Mazzante
wasn't in the top 8 or even top 10. She was so good in college, I just
don't understand why she was in the 2nd round. I thought that
Robinson could have been higher, and Butts as well. Brungo went ealier
than I thought but she should do fine. Any thoughts?

I think it's realistic to evaluate players based on their performance
in tough games against good defenders and when there is a lot on the
line, and Mazzante failed. In fact, some of her points were after it
even mattered. If she couldn't get away from a sophmore and junior why
do you think she would be consistently different in the WNBA? I think
it also hurt Mazzante that UCONN also defended other players on her
team but two other players on PN still managed to make valuable
contributions when she couldn't.

Whalen played better against UCONN than Mazzante did. How well did
Mazzante play against good defenders on other top 5 teams?

Though it's hard for me to type this, I basically go with Warren on this
issue. A good player never lets the defense get in the way. This is when
moving well without ball, knowing how to use screens and picks well, all
come into play and I agree, Mazzante just didn't seem to show those skills
in the tournament. On the other hand, one tournament does not a career make
and so there's also something to be said about considering her whole career.
Though I side with Warren, I'm still a bit torn about the issue.

Not to worry, we'll both get past this.

Speaking of stuff like that, I saw Kara Lawson today with one of her
Monarchs teamates who noticed my UCONN shirt. Her teammate was friendly
enough with a little joke but "K-Lo" seemed a bit grumpy. Ah well.

That's K-Law, not K-Low.

I get it, but when she said it it sounded more like K-Low.
