I think for the first time he's facing a situation where if he fails
to significantly improve the team, he really won't have any excuses. I
think progress has been made on one of his major flaws, the total
disregard for the draft, so he's got draft picks, cap room, and no
real malcontents with any leverage to screw things up... no excuses,
and at 4-29 with an empty building, no margin for error. Either the
team gets a lot better or Taylor will have to clean house. Actually
McHale will probably just fire Wittman and blame it all on him.

I assume Taylor views this year as creative destruction, aiming for a
#1 pick, clearing cap space, and auditioning the players from Boston,
and the real team doesn't get built until next summer. He may even be
planning to hire a new GM or coach but figures nobody wants the job of
standing around and watching these guys play, so the new guys will
come in next summer when there's actual work to be done.

I still sure as hell don't miss last year's team.
