HCA throughout the playoffs is all anyone ought to hope for. An impressive
regular-season record doesn't get you any more than that. The Mavericks were
67-15 and lost in the first round. >> Stay informed about: So much for 82-0. |

And ti should be an attainable goal, given how much weaker the West is than
the East and thus how much easier our schedule should be compared to Bahstan.

Losing last nite convincingly was probably good- ya don't wanna peak too
soon, nor get cocky...Pistons did expose a couple of lakers potential
weaknesses-Fish as much as I love the guy-is no longer a very quick
guard, and won't get any quicker after a long grueling season into the
playoffs, and Gasol and Odom can get muscled...but, there's not much you
can do about it. >> Stay informed about: So much for 82-0. |

Repeat after me: the East is stronger than the West. By a lot.
It had to end some time, and it has, in spades.

It's still really, really early and of the 9 key impact players out of
commission around the league (Manu, Parker, Deron Williams, Josh Smith,
Oden, Jason Richardson, Monta Ellis, Shane Battier, Arenas) only 3 come from
the East.
I expect the East to likely finish as the stronger conference this year with
the start they've had but I'd be surprised to see it "in spades" and in fact
would not be at all surprised to see the trend revert to WC supremacy,
although slight, this season. This hinges more on what the bad teams like
Minny, OKC, and the Clips do than what the top teams do.
Believe me, I'd be delighted for the West to be the easier conference this
year, it could be the edge LA needs to HCA through the POs, which would be a
big leg up come money time...

I don't know what's going on out West, but apparently it's catchy... Yao,
McGrady, and Artest all go down tonight... looks like 1 or more of them
could easily miss more time, too...
