They should trade him to the Rockets. The parade of desperately
inneffectual PGs they've picked up so far is very sad to see.

Don't the Pistons already have a guy like him in Delfino?

Where have all those shitty Laker fans gone big D. Brandon, Coon, Smith,

Darko Part II. This gives them a guard corps of Billups,
Hamilton, Arroyo and Delfino. I doubt Arroyo's going to
see as much playing time as he wants.
What I'd really like to know is what Arroyo did. Usually guys
who get in Sloan's doghouse are given multiple chances to get
out of it--Mehmet Okur earlier this year, for example. For
Sloan to sit him four straight games, there must be more going
on behind the scenes. >> Stay informed about: Arroyo for Campbell? |

From what I can see, Arroyo just wasn't proactive. He and Sloan locked
horns, and Sloan gave him a "time out" (benched him). This has certainly
happened before with other players, and most of them have found their
way out of the dog house. Carlos was told by several people (current and
former Jazzmen, notably), that Sloan's door is open and he should go
hammer things out. For whatever reason, he didn't.
Sloan is many things as a coach, but he's no babysitter, for better or
worse.
Combine that with a couple PGs who've been playing quite well enough,
thank you, Arroyo's game slipping at all the wrong times (the few
minutes he played in the last couple months), Kirilenko coming off the
IL and Collins right behind him, and there wasn't a place for Arroyo.
I somehow don't think Detroit is the last team Arroyo will play for this
season. But I could be wrong.

Thanks for the info.

He has a nice contract, so he's at least a decent asset. I'm not
sure about the details of the pick Detroit gave up in the trade.
Is it just their '06 first rounder, straight up?
I can't understand what's happening in Detroit, either. They
acquired Derrick Coleman and Elden Campbell and barely played
them. Instead of Milicic, Darvin Ham is getting his whopping
3 or 4 minutes a game while Darko racks up more DNP-CDs.
Now we have this, which basically relegates Delfino to being
a 5th guard/injury list fodder (I forgot to add Lindsey Hunter
to Billups, Hamilton, Arroyo and Delfino earlier).
Unfortunately, Larry Brown has a long history of pining after
players and then virtually ignoring them once they're acquired.
Mark Jackson in Indiana is one example. The 76ers roster is
bulging with guys he declared were irreplacable but turned
out to be overpaid busts. I suspect Arroyo is going to find
himself in the same position as the above mentioned players,
behind the creaky journeyman that Larry prefers. >> Stay informed about: Arroyo for Campbell? |

It is a future first round and lottery protected.
I do not understand this trade from a Pistons' point of view.
Especially giving up Eldon Campbell. Eldon was on the squad to
provide backup for the Wallace's. I can't believe Coach Brown will
now cede that to Derrick "Older than Dirt" Coleman. Plus, if Aroyo
couldn't get along with Coach Sloan because he wasn't a team player,
he's certainly not going to fit in with the Pistons or Coach Brown.
Maybe we'll see Aroyo traded for something better before the end of
the trading deadline. I certainly hope so.

Despite my above tirade, maybe this means (if Aroyo isn't traded) that
Darko starts getting more playing time.

Brown hasn't done that too much with the Pistons because Joe Dumars
makes the personnel decisions and he'd done a great job.
