Dirk didn't have to retaliate with a punch, as has been pointed our time
and time and time again, yet apparently some can't read. Dirk certainly
could have told West to get his "hands off my friggin' face or it's on."
Likewise, he certainly is allowed to push away West's hand. You don't
let someone intimidate you like that. This isn't about who's tougher in
a fight. It's about dignity and self-worth working within a team
concept. It's not only a sign of weakness in how Dirk reacted but it's
a sign that he'll let himself and his teammates be pushed around: this
is hardly in the tradition of great NBA superstars.
