I'm most interested in how the Blazers respond to a loss (remember
losses?).. It's been a while. This is a young team. Let's see what
happens now. I'm more interested in effort and cohesive play than
whether or not it is a win....

Minnie sucks so it better be a win, especially with the rough month ahead.
By the end of January, we will have a much better idea of where this team
is. 9 games on the road, with some tough teams in the mix, & only 5 at
home, including Utah, GS, Hou, Atl & Cle. If we can weather this month with
something near .500, it will go a long way towards a far more successful
season than any of us dared to hope for at the start of year.

Go Blazers !

Yeah, well, as Vince Lombardi said, show me a good loser, and I'll
show you a loser. You can put all the cohesive play and effort
together with $2.20 and go to Starbucks and get yourself a latte.
That's what that's worth.

I say it needs to be translated into wins too, or it ain't worth
squat. That's the way that's measured. The only way it's
measured. No, not all wins everywhere all the time. Of course not.
That's not a reasonable expectation. But wins where they should win,
if they are truly a better team than they were? You betcha. And
there are several of these upcoming games where they could maybe
should win. Like tonight against 4-26 Minnesota. Like tomorrow night
against 11-18 Chicago. Like at New Jersey. Like at Miami. Those
are games they ought to win. Then throw in a win or two against one
or two of the better teams (Golden State, or Atlanta, or New Orleans),
and it's a darn good road trip.

I think they HAVE to win tonight (and it's not a given, imho). If they
can't beat the Timberwolves, despite having about 13 more wins, thats
a sad state of affairs.

I won't be confident with any lead in tonights game.

If they beat Minnie I'll go buy a Blazer hat immediately. If they
lose I'll keep wearing my old Sonics hat.

Bulls have been a lot better since they fired Skiles.

I do agree, on the other hand all teams get beat by teams they should not,
like detroit losing to the blazers...

> Then throw in a win or two against one

I think the 4-10 road is deceptive because they have for the most part
played tough teams.
They should have beat Philly and perhaps the Bobcats on that east trip, but
the majority of their road losses were to be expected even with their
current record.

4 losses were against 3 of the four elite top 4 west teams.
6 of the 10 losses were against 5 west teams with winning records Those
teams are 96-38.
Plus a 7th against the then full strength rockets.

But the Blazers are also 6-6 against those teams with 2 road wins against
teams that normally have great home records in gyms where blazer wins are
rare..
They were supposed to beat the Griz and Minny and did so.

You missed the point entirely. The latte comment says it all.
