World Tavern Standings (either top ten gets me in the regionals):

Blue Bayou Club 12
West End Tavern 2
Broad Street Cafe 10

I missed over half the games at Broad Street and West End.

Is this something like IFOCE (go Sonya!), only for drinkers?

No, but drinking is the economic engine behind it all.
That and a shot [hic!] at the World Series of Poker
(hardly knew 'er).

I made the final table (12th) at one regional early on,
finishing just out of the money. I was 21st last spring,
earning a nice poker chip set, and three spots from an
invite to the national tournament in Atlantic City.

Patience + Agression. The World Tavern Texas Hold 'Em
is a bit differnet from "normal" in that the blinds go
up so quickly and start kinda high relative to your
chip stack. If you are too passive or don't get a few
good hands early, you are doomed. A bit more luck is
involved, though I think you have to be even better
at reading your opponents.

IFOCD sounds more fun.

With many champions coming from the usual college fraternity and sorority
competitions.

I drink more before six in the morning than most Marines
drink all month.
