Almost halfway through the WNBA regular season... - and not one head coach has resigned or been fired yet. Amazing.

WNBA playoffs: Minnesota Lynx at Los Angeles Sparks [R] - This wasn't the same Lynx team that got chased out of Staples a week ago. The Lynx were 0-4 during the regular season against the Sparks but three of those losses were by 3 points, 1 point, and 4 points. People forget that. A two point win..

WNBA playoffs: Sacramento Monarchs at Los Angeles Sparks [R] - Bad news for fans. The Los Angeles Sparks won the second game of their epic WNBA Western Series with the Monarchs. They beat the Monarchs something AWFUL! I really can't say it was because L.A. played with all the..

Ok you WNBA afficionados, I probably haven't seen as many WNBA games as you
guys have but from the ones I've seen, I have never seen a technical foul
called on anybody. A case in point was last Friday's Monarchs and Sparks
game which I saw in person. Some players like DNasty exhibited behavior that
really warranted a T and of course the crowd kept on egging the refs to "T
her up" but it just didn't happen. Since it seems to happens so
infrequently, you probably recall very vividly the technicals that you've
seen. Can you recount them? What exactly happened?

Yes, it happens and not all that infrequently. In fact, there were
four (4!) technicals called in the last regular season game between
Houson and Sacramento. One against Swoopes, one against the Coach,
and I don't remember the others. Unfortunately, the Monarchs missed
most of their free throws on those.

Also, if I remember correctly, Coach Bill Laimbeer (Detroit) was
ejected after receiving his second 'T' in the Detroit/Sacramento game
at Arco.

A recent Technical that was missed... Elaine Powell (also Detroit),
threw the ball in a snit after being called for a foul ( I think this
was a first round playoff game, but not sure). None of the refs saw
it, so no Technical was called, but she deserved one.

It seems the officials are as inconsistent with Technical fouls as they are
with all other aspects of their game. At times players or coaches do terrible
things - such as Elaine Powell punching the ball into the stands vs. the Sun.
At other times, players grumble under their breath and get T'ed up.
