He was a Guard... but he is not know for his playing career. I am not quite
sure how he made it into coaching, but he knows the game 1000 times better
than he played it.

Long time assistant starting in 1989. Right after his short career at the
end of benches, mostly in Boston, he became an assistant for the nets under
Bill Fitch and Chuck Daly for 5 years... then 3 years at Portland as an
assistant to PJ... then an assistant to Bird for 3 years.... Bird wanted him
to get the head job when he retired in 2000..... Walsh gave it to zeke...
and Rick got the head coach job at Detroit.
