Didn't he punch somebody?? There needs to be a message that kind of
behavior is not tolerated

So, a 15 game suspension 'message' isn't enough for you?

As long as he learns his lesson. If he misses the all star game he
might think twice about punching somebody. Also other players may
realize what might happen to them and think twice also.

Though I do believe that if there were other avenues that players could
take to voice their grievances that would be less fights on the floor.
Right now if a player voices his concerns he is almost always fined. I
think this builds up resentment and frustration that explodes on the
floor and people get hurt.

I'm not a Carmelo fan, but I do wonder: has there ever been an all-
star game that excluded the league's leading scorer??? (excluding
injury)

I am a Carmelo fan - but I don't agree with a system that doesn't just
add up points to define "leading scorer". The fans who paid money
to go to games where Carmelo scored zero (I believe there were 15 such
games in a row) did not notice him being a leading scorer.

I did not think there was ANY games that he did not score at all

Last night he scored very poorly but that is different than scoring zero

I don't think Howard meant it as a joke. He was criticizing the NBA
using point *per game* rather than total points scored. In other
words, Carmelo is not the NBA's points leader. Carmelo is currently
only 19th with 929 pts. Arenas is first with 1366.

Dave, Dave, Dave ... this was Howard's attempt at a joke (I think) ... 15
zero point games in a row corresponding to the 15 game suspension ... I
know, I had to read it twice, but did appreciate the effort ...

He better be careful. He does not want to get fined for criticizing :)

Normally I would stick up for Melo, but here is the problem I am currently
having as a Nuggets fan. Melo has been absolutely horrible since coming
back from the suspension. Before the suspension, his complete game was
coming around. He was playing D, scoring within the context of a good team
offense, dishing the ball well, hustling, and even rebounding fairly well.
Since the suspension, he has been lazy, selfish, and pretty much all-around
horrible. I don't know what the hell has happened to him. I thought the
acquisition of AI would energize him, but it seems that his suspension has
had such a negative impact that even AI's arrival can't pull him out of this
funk. He was the worst player on the floor against Sacramento the other
night. And if that was due to his finger, then he shouldn't have been in
the game.

He's missed 3 games. But Carmelo hasn't shown that he understands
the team game sufficiently yet.

It is interesting to see the Nuggets' old coach teaching a bunch of
Zoomies how to beat "better" players. Is it that much harder to
coach pros?

I am stumped. Carmelo gets a triple double and still the Nuggets lose.
