Not exactly what the Wolves needed worst right now, IMO.

I would have rather seen them go for C Spencer Hawes or
PG Acie Law, to fill some of their gaps at those positions.

At predraft camp he was 2 hundred's of a second slower than Brooks 3.20 3/4 court sprint at 3.22 he
equaled several small guards and was the only one over 6'3" close to Brooks.

What could have been . . .imagine if the Atlanta trade went as
rumored, with the Wolves getting the 3 and 11. They could have had
Conley (or Yi), Brewer and Thorton.

Would you rather have KG or Conley/Yi and Thorton?

Or if KG hadn't vetoed the Boston deal (I'm surprised there aren't
more Wolves fans upset with KG over this), Al Jefferson and Yi.

Another what if:

GS traded Richardson to the Bobcats for the eighth pick. As much as I
like Brewer, that move would have been attractive for the Wolves.
Richardson is entering his prime (he's 26), and IMO, he's one of the
best two guards in the nba. He'd have been a great second scorer for
KG.

I think the Bobcats made out much better than Boston did. Ray Allen
is 32, and not much better, if at all, than Richardson. Another bad
move by Ainge.

Well, Brewer being a "star" remains to be seen. I still think they
could have used a true big man like Hawes.

I hope Brewer turns out to be the "star" you claim he can be. The
Wolves need all the help they can get right now, since they didn't
pull the trigger on the KG trade.

I hope so too.

Just curious, what do you mean by "true big man". Are you just
talking size, or guys who can do what true big men do, which is
intimidate and rebound. Hawes averaged 6 rebounds a game, while a
6'7" guy on the team averaged close to 10. Doesn't he sound alot like
Blount?

Here is another reason you might now want Hawes. Not only can he not
rebound, he's also a conservative!

"Spencer Hawes is a hardcore conservative from, of all places, the
liberal stronghold of Seattle . . .When I spoke with Hawes at the
league's predraft camp on May 31, he talked about a recent Public
Debate class exercise at the University of Washington. In it, he said,
he denied the entire existence -- and human cause -- of global
warming. When asked for his take on Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth,
Hawes said, 'It's one big lie. I talked about that in my opening
speech -- it's the media's liberal overexaggeration of just about
everything.'"

Hawes, also an avid listener of The Rush Limbaugh Show, will be happy
to know that Rush also turned pro -- as a talk radio host -- in
Sacramento. For fear of overexaggerating any additional draft tales,
we'll leave you with that."

I meant in sheer size and presence. Hawes is still a very young guy
with potential, IMO.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how he does with the Kings
over the next season or two. If the Wolves could have gotten
15 PPG, 6 RPG and 2 BPG from him, I think he's an upgrade
from Blount, who's career numbers are nowhere near that.

Hopefully Brewer will turn out to be the better pick for the Wolves
in the long run.

Curt Shilling is almost as deluded, but I'd still take him. Well,
maybe not anymore, but ... you know what I mean. Athletes have the
right to be ignorant, as long as it doesn't hurt them on the court/
field.

I heard Hawes has an "I love George W. Bush" bumper sticker. Wow. Talk
about sticking your head in the sand.
