Once again the most corrupt, dirtiest, and unprofessional organization in
pro sports, the NBA referees, strike again. For Iverson's comments after
the Sixers-Nuggets game about Steve Jabbe the refs punished Iverson and his
team all on their own by not calling the game fair. Iverson was continually
hammered going to the hoop and fouls simply were not called against the Jazz
repeatedly.

For years the refs have used these personal vendettas against certain
players that speak out against them and punished them by affecting game
outcomes. If the NBA has any credibility it would suspend the referees
involved in the game, but David Stern for years has shielded them from
criticism(witness Mark Cuban) and done anything possible to cover up their
misbehavior. Ask virtually any NBA player or coach off the record and they
will agree, but fear speaking out and being treated like Iverson was treated
the past two games...

That is so true. Whatever happened to freedom of speech? What kind of
society do we live in that it is OK to protest against the president but
speak out against the refs in the NBA and you get fined. That is sad

Employees of the president get fired when they speak out against him
publicly.

What would happen if you spoke out publicly against your employer?

I am not sure. Since I am self employed probably nothing. :) That is
besides the point. For the most part these players are not speaking out
against their employer they are speaking out against some other
employers employees. What is wrong with these referees? Are they so
thin skinned they can't take a little criticism?

Also it does not matter. People should be able to speak out without
fear of any reprisals

Cap strategy - I noticed that the Nuggets seem intent on signing minor players to use up their cap room. This doesn't make sense to me. Why not front load a contract with the extra money instead? The NHL don't have a cap, and the Rangers offered a heavily..
