The case for Kobe is the same as the one for Nash in his two wins, so I
imagine he's a fan of the notion :)

Uhh, no. Getting 30 on 15-20 is fabulous; getting 30 on 15-40 is awful.
What matters is efficiency on both ends.

She knows she got herself in too deep, and the letter ensured

Enough to make Kobe pay money and right an embarassing letter.

The State dropped the charges after both sides had come to agreement to have

Spoken like somebody who has never faced a felony trial,
whether innocent or guilty. You'd put your balls on the block
and your fate in the hands of a racist Sheriff's Dept and
crooked D.A. Yeah, good luck with that.

Oh, the horror! An embarassing letter! Some money! What's a
false conviction and life imprisonment compared to that?

Between the lines:
"I trule believe this encounter between us was consentual"
+
"I understand how she sincerely feels that she did not consent
to this encounter"
=
"I am standing by my original position, but I will not sue her
when she finally drops her accusation" >> Stay informed about: Dirk says Kobe Is MVP |

Yes, and we all know that every Sheriff and D.A. are crooked.. and every
jury that is not urban is redneck... Snore! Fact is Kobe just made it easier
to be accused for himself. Next time he is accused, people will compare it
to when Michael Jackson settled out of court. >> Stay informed about: Dirk says Kobe Is MVP |

I'm not saying that. The Sheriff's Dept in Eagle Co. already
had a history of racist practices. They had been successfully
sued for racial profiling a few years earlier, and at least one
of the investigators on Bryant's case was named in that suit.
Hurlbert's unethical practices in the Bryant case are nearly
identical to the ones that got Nifong disbarred in N.C. THAT'S
why he's crooked.

No, you declared that the jury would be rednecks in Vail Colorado. You
created bias in favor of your own bias opinion. "Redneck Town Jury."

"First, I want to apologize directly to the young woman involved in this
incident. I want to apologize to her for my behavior that night and for the
consequences she has suffered in the past year. Although this year has been
incredibly difficult for me personally, I can only imagine the pain she has
had to endure. I also want to apologize to her parents and family members,
and to my family and friends and supporters, and to the citizens of Eagle,
Colo.
"I also want to make it clear that I do not question the motives of this
young woman. No money has been paid to this woman. She has agreed that this
statement will not be used against me in the civil case. Although I truly
believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she
did not and does not view this incident the same way I did. After months of
reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in
person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this
encounter.
"I issue this statement today fully aware that while one part of this case
ends today, another remains. I understand that the civil case against me
will go forward. That part of this case will be decided by and between the
parties directly involved in the incident and will no longer be a financial
or emotional drain on the citizens of the state of Colorado." >> Stay informed about: Dirk says Kobe Is MVP |
