As free agency opened, the Knicks immediately went after Bulls backup
point guard Chris Duhon, the New York Daily News are reporting.
The Knicks are believed to be offering Duhon a two year contract worth
half of the mid-level exception.
Our backcourt could be a little thin right now," Knicks coach Mike
D'Antoni said. "We could get some help there, no doubt."
The Knicks are interested in Sacramento's Beno Udrih, but he wants a
five-year deal. The Knicks don't want to add anything to their cap
beyond July 2010, when LeBron James and other marquee players can
become free agents. >> Stay informed about: Duhon WTF?!!!! |

Relax, it's only for 2 years and it's a stop gap till 2010 as you saw.
All the NBA teams are band-aiding their roster and trying to dump
salary as they get ready for the 2010 sweepstakes. >> Stay informed about: Duhon WTF?!!!! |

Well, SeaBass Telfair is also Steph's cousin and they had a pretty bad

I'm not actually concerned.I'm on a fishing mission...
I do like the prospects of Udrith. He'd be a fine stopgap. >> Stay informed about: Duhon WTF?!!!! |

BTW Udrih used to play in Milan ('Nilo's team, but years b4) before being
called by the CIA...
I really dont know how they made a player out of him, really he SUCKED big
big time in Italy and I could not believe he was called by Pop, but, once
again, they're ALWAYS ahead of the competition... (Ginobili is a second
rounder :) ).
Would not overlook Duhon, even tho I believe he lacks size, he does have
"huevos" and he is a good defender and, even if not very trustable, can be a
good spot up 3 point shooter at times... I do not see any MJ in your
backcourt right now...
Talking about Steph, you might know that his cousin (Jamel Thomas) has been
playing for years in Italy, and he really HATES Steph, I found a post by JT
on an online american newspaper (i believe it was Washington
somethingnews...) where JT was saying basically that Steph is the most
selfish person he's ever met...
If his relatives think that, I wonder what NYK fans think about Steph... (He
said he's gonna play in Italy, oh my...)

Pretty much, we agree with how JT feels about Steph.
Thanks for the info on Duhon. I didn't know he can play D. The rap on him is
he can move the ball but he can't shoot very well. If he can pass and play
D, he actually may be a good fit here. God knows we have enough guys to
shoot (figuratively and literally) on this team. >> Stay informed about: Duhon WTF?!!!! |

Had no doubt. Even if he tried to get rid of Zeke on the plane to PHX, i
learnt...

I like CD, I always have. I think he plays with "garra" (spanish for hustle,
heart) and that is not so automatic for NBA players, I think...

Ah ah ah :)
Don't worry. Mike from Mullens, WV will turn your team in a contender in 3-4
yrs and everybody will be happy at the Olympic towers.

Nonsense. There's only one way Udrih would come here over all the
better teams that want him -- and that's the old fashioned Knick way,
which is to wildly overpay him until you're saddled with a contract
extending for six years that you can never move and no one else
wants. Udrih's agent is saying even the full mid-level isn't good
enough. Good luck with that. Look at all the guys like Udrih who had
one good season in their contract year, perked up some interest around
the league, and whom we were smart enough to woo away by being the
highest bidder with the longest deal...let's see, the two JJs: Jared
Jeffries and Jerome James. Do we learn nothing from history that
recent?
Duhon, on the other hand, sounds like a *completely* sensible play.
Give the guy two years at $2M per. He's not the greatest PG ever, but
he'll be a fine stopgap for this "rebuilding" time -- where we are not
going to win much anyway regardless of what we do -- and let them give
Marbury the boot. If Duhon totally sucks, the risk is very minimal at
$2M for two years, and it allows them to hang onto Lee for a better
cap-clearing trade instead of having to swap him for Felton, who isn't
Walt Frazier either. It's the first sane proposal I've heard from
Knicks management with regard to free agents in many years.
Don't lose sight of the point, folks. We're trying to clear it out so
we can have a chance to be good later, not trying to get a couple
players in a losing effort to patch this roster together now. Haven't
you all had enough of that already?
And as for LeBron, face facts -- he ain't coming here. There's
already plenty of teams that are going to have something more
attractive to offer him, if he indeed leaves Ohio (and I doubt he
will). But the idea of him coming is the perfect carrot to dangle in
front of the dipshit owner in order to convince him to exercise some
patience and make some sane moves, and try to rebuild this roster into
one with vaguely movable assets instead of a pile of albatrosses that
leave the team permanently shackled. Stay with it and don't fall into
all the old traps. If we fans start encouraging Isiah-like moves like
throwing the full midlevel at a Beno Udrih until 2013, there's really
no one else to blame. >> Stay informed about: Duhon WTF?!!!! |

Word.
10 points, 4 assists, 33 million dollars.
For once I can gleefully say on the Knicks' behalf, "Not it!"
It's strange because Sacramento's been blowing it up left and right

see a few more lottery seasons, myself. >> Stay informed about: Duhon WTF?!!!! |
