Seems a bit pricey to give him the full MLE... though we didn't make
the mistake of giving him too many years like we have with previous
MLEs. I suppose that's what a full MLE gets you these days: a "not
quite" starter sort of player. My understanding of Duhon is that he's
ok all around but doesn't particularly excel at anything.

He's better than the other free agent PGs out there that could be had
for that money. Possibly save Arroyo...

I wonder if this is considered our stopgap "answer" at PG and if Steph
gets bought out soon as a consequence.

There's the rub. Little sacrifice for us on this end besides Dolan's
cash, unless we wanted to use the rest of this year's MLE on someone
else. Even if he shows up and sucks so bad we can't even use him to
ho hum through the next two seasons, he'll be an expiring this time
next year and will be able to be bought out.

The short contract means that he'll probably put some effort out
because he'll need another contract shortly and wants to be a
starter. He won't have the option to mail it in, JJ-style, with six
years of the full MLE under his belt.

Arroyo's better.

Ya gotta believe...

Exactly. In this case we're actually using JD's money to our
advantage. I distinctly remember saying about Big Snacks that I would
be cool with a 2-3 year deal and falling silent when he got a six year
deal. It's just like, "dude, what the hell is wrong with you Isiah".

It's still an awful lot of money for Chris Duhon...

Ok, I was beating around the bush, but yeah. He is.
