Archived from groups: alt>sports>basketball>nba>det-pistons, others (more info?)

From a Canadian newspaper column a couple days ago:

"We saw Piston fans getting it on with Ron Artest recently. Those fans were
idiots. That's self-evident. However, the fans that call radio talk shows
and support Artest's actions seem at least as stupid. Some clowns keep
trying to sell the idea that the fans throwing beer at Artest were insulting
his manhood and disrespecting him. See now, Artest is a product of the
street, of the hood ... it would have been a sign of weakness for him to not
stand his ground and go into the stands and defend his honour. If sports
fans must go down that road, surely it would have been more courageous that
Artest actually defend his honour by retaliating against his original
instigator, the person who actually did disrespect him physically in an
altercation that started the whole fiasco. But Ben Wallace is a big scary
cat. So Artest did what any coward would do, and that was select Option B,
which says when your manhood has been exposed by a bigger and nastier
opponent, turn around and smack the fatsoes with the popcorn and beer." ...

Big Baby Ben is real brave when he has several thousand drunken Piston fans
as backup!

I think your counting the Pacers out too early. They are in a dog fight
with all the missing body's for sure, no team could withstand these losses.
However, in the end they will come out and even tougher dog and when they
get their players back they will be well rested for the stretch. Indiana is
still my pick to win the East.

Just an opinion.

Detroit, MI is infested with 'thugs'. So what's your point?

Isn't it interesting that it took the Pistons nearly a month to catch the
Pacers after the Pacers lost their top 3 scorers. And the Pacers were
already riddled with injuries worse than ANY NBA team.

I guess you have to make these things up because you don't have anything
intelligent to say. "Bush is the AntiChrist!! "? You need to tighten a
several screws. You're falling apart.

I made up what, that the pacers were knocked off by a lower seeded team
last season? The pistons were a lower seeded team than the Pacers. If
you don't know that, then you are an imbecile.
