God, I hate losses like this the most. To be on the brink of a huge win and
then see it all slip away is so much worse than just getting blown out. Who
would have thought Iverson's technical on the first quarter would end up
costing us the game? Or that Green would have a chance to win it in the
final seconds with a free throw, for that matter? I think this will prove to
be a career defining game for both Green and Korver. I'm certain Green is
gone over the summer, which may not have been the case if he had made both
free throws. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he played himself off
the team -- more that he was heading off of it anyway and missed out on a
chance to play himself back on. Who knows, he may have great success on
whichever team signs him as a free agent, as so many failed Sixers have
before. As for Korver, I'm not sure if he will be back either, but that is
thanks to Dalembert playing himself into a payroll devouring contract. That
said, how Korver reacts to having such a bad game (and series so far) on
such a big stage will define his career. He needs to be able to bounce back
from this -- if not in game 5 then definitely the next time he makes it into
the playoffs. Otherwise, he will join the likes of Eddie Jones as guys who
look good on paper but you don't really want on your team come playoff time.
