I feel your "<reel>" for you.

Especially since I presume you were already <reel>-ing over early
_player_ departures.

How rapidly things become totally borked! (until you find out later that
"feelers" had been out for months or wotever).

My how things turn so ugly so quickly.

I'd complain, but who in their right mind would listen?

This made me laugh and that is pretty hard to do right now.

You know, I was thinking about this earlier, and I think the Buddhist
philosophy here is worthwhile; we should take these things in moderation.

And by "these things" I mean national championships.

Winning national championships is great. It really is. I would wish
more teams would get a chance to experience it, but then my team(s?
please?) wouldn't, so I really don't. So it's important and good to win
some national championships.

But you can't, and I would argue, *shouldn't*, win all the national
championships. More than one or two in a row and all of a sudden it's
expected; you feel nervous and worried that you might lose in, say, the
Final Four (or some regular-season football game) and blow it. You're
worried about disappointment because your expectations are impossibly
high. The enjoyment isn't as high. How many teams would consider a
Sweet Sixteen appearance a truly great moment? What about a Final Four
(or BCS) appearance, never mind win?

No, truly, it is best to win national championships in moderation. Not
too few, but not too many. That is how it should be.

I don't think this philosophy will ever fly with the Big Blue faithful.

(Although you might get 'em to reluctantly agree that an NC every five
years is about right . . . .)

Even Duke cheerleaders? Man, you need to have some standards!

FWIW regardless of how my poasts on this might come across, I'm really
not surprised, and I wish Coach D all the best. I am now an Orlando
Magic fan. He was single-handedly responsible for getting me hooked
on Gator Hoops about six years ago. It sucks, but it's life.

Yeah, but tell us how you really feel.... ;~)

I'll have to have a Knob Creek and celebrate, (oops) I
mean morn with you....

In all honesty I hate to see any SEC program slip.

Kentucky Basketball is more than wins and losses, it is about
having pride in the program....
