Dear *****,

As a diehard Timberwolves fan, you know that the NBA trade deadline has
finally come and gone. Being a member of our Timberwolves family, we
feel that it is important to keep you informed as to the direction we
are taking with our team. We have said from the beginning of the season
that we will build our team around Kevin Garnett and try to improve in
the following ways:

1. Become younger.
2. Become more athletic.
3. Become a better defensive team.

We still believe that this is the best path back to the playoffs and
that every transaction we make should focus on creating this type of
team around KG. We feel very good about the players we recently
acquired from Boston and think that they have improved our potential in
these areas. That's not to say that we haven't had our growing pains
--but we firmly believe that these players will make us a more
competitive team in the long run.

As the trade deadline approached, we kept this philosophy in mind as we
pursued various deals and held conversations with a number of teams.
But ultimately we could not find enough value in the players that were
being offered and were not willing to part with the players that teams
requested. We could have made a trade simply to change our roster, but
that would have been a knee-jerk reaction that would not have improved
our situation. Instead, because there was no dominant-player deal that
fit our philosophy, we all agreed that our best course of action was to
give our team time to gel and make the dash for the finish line
together.

Have no doubt, we are still committed to building a team that you can
be proud of, a team that will make it back to the playoffs and a team
that will eventually pursue an NBA championship.

Thanks for your patience, thanks for your passion and thanks for being
a True Blue Timberwolves fan.

Regards,

Glen Taylor
Owner, Minnesota Timberwolves

Fine, but Glen, if you are pleased with Mark Blount, you are either on
very successful mood altering RX, watching thru rose colored glasses,
or have given up, and this letter is worthless PR drivvel.

I have that debate with myself everytime I watch
Blount play. At times, I really like him. And some
times I even "pine" for Kandi cuz Blount's so bad.

It's getting hard to watch games because Blount
has me on a yo-yo every game.

Tonight he was only present, he wasn't contributing. Peterson was
pointing out that there are very few true
centers in the league, but how can anyone with two eyes connected to a
servicable brain, not see
that the Wolves are much better with Blount not on the floor. Reed is
really growing, and McCants against
the Nets is really making a nice impression.

My personal favorite plays of McCants was jumping the pass and taking
it the length of the floor, and
Jaric passing to McCants streaking down the right baseline, and Jaric
passing from his rearend, and
Rashad dunking in traffic. His two hand pinpoint pass to KG for the
reverse was pretty neat too.
These all represented god given basketball savvy and skill. Blount is
probably a nice guy, but he doesn't
have any of this, and appears often not to try and employ what he's got.
