| Oden suffers from occasional back pain. Doctors believe it might be
triggered because one of his legs are shorter than the other. Blazers
executives are praying this is only a minor issue but given Oden's
medical history...don't bet on it. I ain't saying...I'm just saying.

You can't really say I told you so until probably 2010. While this is
a horrible development for the Blazers season, you could have easily
said the same thing about Amare Stoudamire who played all 82 games
last year after having the same surgery in 05 and having some injury
bug relating to both knees the season before and he was only 22 at the
time it started. Time will tell.

He may be broke down, but he ain't broke. NOW you know why it would
have been a real dumb move to stay in college another year. This will be a
lesson a lot of NBA agents will use to get top college players to sign after
their freshman years. Oden would have lost millions this year if he had
stayed at Ohio State; this year's salary plus a most likely slip from the
top pick. He and his agent are breathing a sigh of relief, actually. Well,
his agent anyway.

The Oden nightmarish saga continues: Oden just revealed on his blog
that he was walking around with pain in his knee for two months. If he
had mentioned this to Blazers medical staff sooner this injury could
have be caught and treated much earlier. Now, there is Oden's ominous
references to back pain. There are rumors the pain in his back is
actually a bulging disk. Stay turned; this one is developing.
What's next with Oden? Las Vegas is posting proposition bets on
diabetes, lumbago, gout, arthritis and glaucoma. Paul Allen is gonna
have to outfit Oden with a high tech medical bracelet that will alert
