NEW BERLIN, Wis. (AP) - Milwaukee Bucks general manager Larry Harris has
been ticketed for drunken driving.
Harris was pulled over May 4 for driving erratically, and his breath test
showed a blood alcohol level of 0.10 percent, police Lt. Dave Dunn said. The
state's legal limit is 0.08 percent.
In a statement released Tuesday by the team, Harris apologized for his
actions.
``I made a terrible decision by drinking and driving,'' Harris said. ``I
deeply regret my error in judgment and it will never happen again. Those who
know me know that this action is entirely out of character.''
Harris, the son of former NBA head coach Del Harris, was hired last July to
replace Ernie Grunfeld. He has spent 15 seasons with the Bucks and also served
as scout/video coordinator, director of scouting, director of player personnel
and assistant general manager.
Bucks owner Herb Kohl, also a U.S. senator, said in a statement that he
values and trusts Harris as a longtime employee.
``Knowing him as a person and his character, I'm sure he regrets his action
and I trust it won't happen again,'' Kohl said.
