Britt Robson does it again.
Krush, I hope you can find a copy out there in the
burbs on Wednesday. Here's some poop (well, a
strong odor, anyways) on your boy, The Great Poodle...
<We listen with bated breath>
Glen Taylor: Yeah, I would say that the trade with Boston
was pretty complicated. Even the reasons for doing it.
CP: You mean the friction between Garnett and Szczerbiak?
Taylor: I'm just saying there was probably more to it that had
to do with Wally that we have chosen not to talk about--that
Kevin has never said and we have never said. I am just going
to say that no matter what I say, people are going to deny it.
But I would say some things came to a head that forced us to
get into something we didn't necessarily want to do. I think it
would have been pretty dangerous for Kevin McHale not to do
the trade. That kind of thing. And that's all I'll say about that.
<Whew!>
I went to see Bob Dylan last night.
His harmonica seemed to be improving.
Won't those boys from Hibbing ever get it right? >> Stay informed about: Heads Up: City Pages w/Glen Taylor |

Nice strategy by Taylor. Smear Wally without actually saying anything.
Either come out and say what this horrible thing Wally did was, or keep
your mouth shut. I'm cool either way, but what he's doing now is
pretty immature. >> Stay informed about: Heads Up: City Pages w/Glen Taylor |

I'll agree with Scott. There's no secret that there was some
problem between KG and Wally - and for that matter, that
Wally never seemed to fit in with his teammates. Of course,
the opposite tack is that KG may have been the "bad guy".
I think that Taylor simply acknowledged that there was something
besides basketball going on in the Boston trade - which clearly
wasn't the best. Interesting that he said it would have been
"dangerous" for McHale not to have done something.
Anyways, as Taylor says, if he went into gory details, everyone
would deny it.
I suppose that the "high road" to take is to baldly claim that
the trade was about trying to improve the Wolves roster,
competitiveness, and financial situation. <hysterical,
evil laughter fills the darkened hallways...> >> Stay informed about: Heads Up: City Pages w/Glen Taylor |

He didn't really have to say much...just acknowledging that Wally
was a big part of the problem was enough, IMO.

I disagree. I think the way he's handling it is the professional
way to go. Acknowledge the problem and leave it at that...no
need for the gory details at this time. The details don't do any
good at this point and would probably only cause trouble.

The "extended on-line interview":
http://citypages.com/databank/27/1352/article14853.asp
Plenty of "inside scoop" on Olowokandi, Ricky Davis,
Marcus Banks, Marko, Flip Saunders, even EddieG.
Maybe especially the EddieG stuff.
I guess the "good news" is that Taylor is grooming
Fred Hoiberg to be the next GM. It seems clear that
McHale's heart has never been in it, from the git-go,
as if we didn't already <ahem> suspect it.
And there's a big article in the STrib about Ricky Davis
today. I was struck by how the Davis/James lineup
seems to echo the Cassell/Sprewell "experiment'.
Hope springs eternal. >> Stay informed about: Heads Up: City Pages w/Glen Taylor |

Thanks for the link. I'll take a look.

It's a good sign that Eddie seems to have dedicated himself this
offseason, especially losing 15 pounds.
Also a good article yesterday on blount and his training with a Seal
this offseason to improve his rebounds. I have noticed his rebounding
numbers have been better during the preseason. Maybe there is hope for
him . . .

I'm not a big fan of Davis, but I do think James is going to be a
breath of fresh air for this team, and fit in perfectly with KG. KG
already seems to be a big fan. >> Stay informed about: Heads Up: City Pages w/Glen Taylor |

BTW, Britt also published his preseason analysis:
