Can you see the journey ending.First the Maloof's can't get an arena deal
and then the trade Webber for basically nothing.Team starts to get rid of
key players, starts to lose and starts not selling out.Cut payroll and
lose.Just what an owners needs to bolt for greener pastures.

Good Luck Kings Fan

No I am not a Laker fan.I like the Kings but unlike Kings fan I am a little
more objective and critical of what they do.Kind of hope I am wrong.

I was a Kings Fan till they got rid of Vlade, it was a good run..
probably would have won a couple championships except for the Lakers.

Actually, they surprised me so far this year and Webber did a very good
job, considering his impaired mobility, but this is just ridiculous .
This Skinner coldn't even make it as a backup on the Clippers like five
years ago..the guy is nothing by NBA standards. Williamson isn't quick
enough for the small forwards and isn't big enough for the power
forwards..he can score some but any considerable minutes his liabilities
show. Thomas is mediocrity personified..he was in the doghouse earlier
in the season maybe he's a little better than the fw times I've seen
him, but he's hardly anything special. Philadelphia must be lauging
their asses off.

I know that Webber could be traded. However, I have never thought it
will happen so quickly. Kings lost Vlade Divac, Doug Christie and
C-Webber in this year. It's very sad for me. The Kings' roster have
much difference with the former Kings'. Maybe, we can't see the former
Kings style anymore.

Right - they want to start losing so attendance will drop and they will have
an excuse to move to Las Vegas.

Except, oh that's right, the Commish won't allow a team in Vegas unless all
the sports books take NBA bets off their boards. Not gonna happen.

Look, this is a smart trade from Petrie's perspective. This team prior to
the trade was not going to win a title this year. Now they have Webber's
anchor of a contract off the books, and Petrie can negotiate the pieces a
bit better in the offseason.

At most, you can say they have written off this season, but I don't even
believe that. They still have a core group of players that played as well
as any team in the league last year WITHOUT WEBBER.

As a Kings fan, I'm excited to see what this team can do with a lot more
depth and Chris not bogging down the offense.

Maybe so - but this move certainly doesn't guarantee them even an Eastern
conference championship. Detroit seems to have found their rhythm, and
Miami is certainly going to be a tough hurdle. We will see.

But will they be laughing their asses off in the next 3 years, when Webber
is in his mid-30's, making 20 million a year? Especially considering how
injury prone he is? You have to admit, the man is not quick by any
standards. And don't forget, you are talking about a PF that shoots under
45%. He's a severe defensive liability as well.

It probably sounds like I'm really knocking C-Webb, and maybe I am a little.
I was really impressed with him this year, how well he has played
considering his knee rehab. But you watch him move on the court, and you
can see that the good days are pretty far behind him.

Hey Otis-We'll see what Thomas and Williamson can do. The Forewards in
the west are a lot better than the east. I have trouble seeing Thomas
and Williamson doing that much. Maybe they can blend in well? I am
lacking the crystal ball. Also, Peja lived off of Vlade's and Webber's
passing. He's not a one on one guy so he's gonna suffer.

Yeah, just based on one game, it looks like we will miss Webber's passing
ability. I wasn't overly impressed with Thomas and Williamson's ability in
that regard, but it's just one game. Bibby may have to become an actual
passing point guard!

Peja's not a one-on-one guy, but he is very good at getting to the right
spot in the offense for an open shot. I'm not sure you will be able to
blame him if he is in the open spot but they can't get him the ball. There
are a lot of players in the league that can't break the defense down
themselves.

Peja was brilliant *without* Webber last year... until Webber came back from
the IL
