The Bad:
Sorry performance against an average team missing it's best player.
Davis. Looks like he's one of those players that needs to take a lot
of shots to get his points. Another horrible defensive performance.
The last two games, he's made at best average players look like
All-Stars. All was about to be forgiven when he started playing better
in the fourth, but then he misses a crucial free crunch-time free
throw.
KG missing a crunch time free throw. He does this alot.
Defense on Claxton. Banks/Carter aren't completely at fault because
Claxton was "in the zone", hitting everything in site.
Another poor team FG performance (41 %, with Davis and KG leading the
way).
EG not getting off the bench, while McCants does.
The Good:
KG's defense and rebounding. Needs to pick it up offensively.
Banks, especially in the 4th. He probably should have played more.
Love the way he takes it to the basket.
Reed: Good role player with lots of energy. >> Stay informed about: Hornets: Another Sorry Performance |

I think it had to do with Marco's comments that were reported in the
Pioneer Press on Saturday, clearly questioning Casey and his benching.
I don't agree with de-activating Marco. Dupree isn't going to help now
and has no future with the team, while Marco will either be here for a
while or traded. Either way, they should be trying to find a way to
get his confidence up.

I never said they would hang around, only that it's tough to completely
count out a team that is only a few games out of the 8th spot. It
would be unforgiveable for the team to pack it in and focus on
developing players at this point. They need to fall a little farther
out for that to be acceptable.
Anyway, I don't think they will make the playoffs. The Jaric
situation, EG's unwarranted benching, KG not playing at his best, head
scratching rotations, Blount''s poor defense, the downgraded second
option (I now think Davis is a downgrade from Wally on both ends of the
floor, at least so far), lack of a guy that can be counted on during
crunchtime and lack of a viable third option (Banks could be it if he
gets 35-38 minutes/game) have all contributed to this being the
lowpoint of the Wolves franchise, IMO. Hopefully they can turn things
around. >> Stay informed about: Hornets: Another Sorry Performance |

Was it really so unwarranted? I could shoot better than Eddie has this
year. Every time he lines it up, I want to close my eyes. He makes
Madson shooting FTs look accurate by comparison.
I know he's been all right defensivly, but the offense has been SO bad
that I don't think we can fairly say the benching is unwarranted.

At the least, he should get more minutes than Blount. Blount is
killing the team when he is in there, and his -17 +/- backs that up. I
don't have a problem with Maddog starting, but EG should be playing
20-25/game.

I still think he's worth it for defense and rebounding.

I think EG should get the majority of the minutes at Center, and tell
him he can have a very
nice career blocking shots and collecting offensive rebounds, ala
Dennis Rodman, and Paul Silas.
Two of my basketball heroes. The could not be more different
personalities, but they were tremendous
teammates, and rebounders. We don't need a 7 foot mid range jump
shooter, that is a luxury no
team can afford.
Yo God, send the wolves a Ben Wallace out of the sky, please?
I would also like to see the coach develop a retation scheme of Frahm
and Jaric
as two's to expand the floor on offense, the wolves are making it
awfully easy to defend
what is currently happening. >> Stay informed about: Hornets: Another Sorry Performance |

The Wolves have wayyyy too many SGs and too many
guys that should play before those two. Here's the
list:
Davis
Frahm
Hassell (doing yeoman duty swinging to the '3")
Jarics (does anyone believe he's a point guard?)
McCants (the rook has got to play)
Wright (maybe he's being groomed for PG)
And next year, ya gotta believe Hoiberg's back. >> Stay informed about: Hornets: Another Sorry Performance |

Heck yeah they have more than a fighting chance... the Lakers, Jazz, Grizz,
Wolves, even Nuggets are all taking turns stumbling around The Mediocrity
Line all season long. The door is wide open for all those teams. Who will
figure it out? (I think the Grizz are a given, probably the Nuggets too.)
And is it too early to write the season obit on Seattle? (I don't think
so.)

I'm watching the Soprano's rerun's on HBO on demand, it's very
enjoyable,
just watched the one where Tony and Ralph get into a fight, and Ralph
gets
killed.........
It made me think, if the Timberwolves were owned by the mob, Mark
Blount
would disappear, and the Wolves would collect the insurance money on
that
contract for the 7 footer who cannot, or will not rebound. >> Stay informed about: Hornets: Another Sorry Performance |

there's a reason why many of us celtics' fans, although not pleased
with seeing davis go, were happy with the trade - we got rid of a
7-footer who gets outrebounded by his point guards more often than not.
ainge should have never resigned him - he has hands of stone and is
frequently below apathetic on the floor. he has the ability, but no
desire until his contract comes up.
we thank the wolves for taking blount off our hands. now he's your
problem - for another 3-4 years. :) >> Stay informed about: Hornets: Another Sorry Performance |
