That has to be some of the worst coaching (and defensive rebounding) I've
seen in 50+ years of watching the NBA.

I feel for Tracy McGrady. He deserved better.

Why? McGrady wanted to be "the man" ever since he bolted Toronto, and
then Orlando, and he has consistently proven that he doesn't have the
stuff of a real superstar. Put Kobe on the Rockets and they go to the
Western Conference Finals, easily. McGrady is one of the most
overrated three-point chuckers in the NBA today, 100% playoff tested
loser.

I can't jump on JVG either. When Yao went out, I thought the Rockets
were done. JVG kept them winning. If T-Mac made a few of his missed free
throws and Howard made a second basket, the Rockets would have won.

I think JVG did good with a really weak and undersized bench(the Utah
bench are giants in comparison). I'm also not a fan of offensive rebound,
T-Mac runs the floor and heaves up a 3-pointer without trying to set up
a decent shot. I know he can get hot and make those shots but I didn't
see him in that kind of groove in any of the Utah games.

McGrady is not the player that many think he is.

He's the complementary star.
He's Pippen. He's Ginobili. Maybe he's David Robinson.

He's not Jordan. He's not Duncan, O'Neil, Kobe or Wade.

He might even be Nowitzki. Next to Yao, he's not enough.

Until McGrady can will his team to win playoff series, the Rockets are
stuck where they are. Good enough to make the playoffs. Hell, this
year, they had the 5th best record in the league! But not good enough
to get out of the first round, and in the hardest place to improve the
team. No high draft pick. Salary cap max'ed out. Only waiting until
the good teams get old and fade away. Hoping for an upset in their
side of the bracket, but unable to take advantage when it happens.

Reporter: "Tracy, did you see the Mayweather- De La Hoya fight last night?"
McGrady: "Nah, it was boring. I couldn't make it past the first round."

Rockets have treat him bad. They gave him only 1/2 week to make up his
mind. He may not be best coach, but Rockets didn't treat him with
respect. They should have given him couple of weeks to make his mind.
It was just disgusting to fire him after 1/2 week, and the Rockets
went behind his back before he gave his response. Just not right for a
coach who got the Rockets to playoffs.
