In recent Charlie Walters column he speculated that if Lorenzen Wright
could not be obtained, John Thomas was available, and had been working
out and playing pick up games locally.

I think Thomas would be ok, he'd be inexpensive, and he wouldn't have
to have his role explained, he'd grind and be happy.

While I do like John Thomas, I find it very discouraging that he could
be our main big-man addition of the offseason. I think he's a solid 3rd
string center, but he won't help a mediocre team become a contender.
I do like the drafting of Foye and signing James might turn out to be a
good move, but more needs to be done.
If we were a better team, then I would say we've had a good offseason.
Unfortunately, the Wolves are not a good team (mediocre at best) and
needed to make drastic changes....adding Mike James and Foye don't
qualify as drastic changes. I should add that I do believe Foye is
going to be great someday, but it's not fair to expect a rookie to
bring a team into contention right away.
At this point, I can't see this roster winning more games than we did
last season....which means Garnett will demand a trade in the very near
future.
I think it's time for the McHale regime to decide if we're rebuilding
or making a push. And with the way things are looking, making a push
seems far out of reach.

Yep. Things look pretty grim here in Wolvesville.
