Osterfag's a stiff. He'll get some boards, play a little
D, get a putback or two (maybe), collect a bunch of fouls, and
sit down. He'll be Miller's caddy.

I don't know about the first paragraph, but for the second,
I'm having flashbacks to Doc Rivers trying to explain why
he let Darrell Armstrong go last season. It's all fine and
good to say you want a new image for your team, but ditching
a hardworking if older player because too many other guys
look up to him is just nuts.

Not "too many" other guys, just one guy. And this one guy has a reputation
of easily bruised ego and disappearance at PO time.
