From another board:
"[The] story was on "News From the Heartland" as well (Fox News) so it is
starting to draw attention. The host (John Kasich sp) interviewed an AP
sports writer from LA and a defense attorney."
"Kasich asked why this is taking so long considering the June 5 date, why no
charges etc. Anyway the writer said the incident was reported but the
investigation was very slow and the reason the story finally came out was
that a friend of the victim contacted a news source the same week the story
broke with all the information. The friend felt that nothing was being done.
The defense attorney said that his sources in the DA's office indicated that
the alleged incident was not yet thoroughly investigated etc. because of
vacations in the police department and the DA's office proper."
That's the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for you. Let's not
have anybody interrupt their vacation in the LAPD or the County D.A.'s
Office to do any work.
