Apparently from the SPPP, Banks locked himself in his room for 3 days
after the Wolves signed James, and recently the brain trust gave him
the "cold shoulder" at the Las Vegas rookie league games.
So he wants to be Nash's back up rather than James? I think he could
have actually competed with James but he must see the tea leaves and
realised maybe not.
OH, use what ever dough saved to sign a legit banger.
The sad irony would be if the Suns go to the finals, and Banks gets a
ring before KG. That would be very annoying. >> Stay informed about: Marcus Banks to Suns |

Sounds typical of the McHale's style of negotiating with players.
He seems to work one player at a time, the guys next in line
don't hear a word.
If Banks indeed locked himself in his room, let's give him the benefit
of the doubt and assume that he spent the time working with his agent
trying to get a deal somewhere, anywhere.
The hardest part of the deal was getting Nash to cut his hair.

Even Marcus can see that on the Wolves, the "front office" dictates
the starting five and playing time in general. But I have the
impression
that Marcus was playing the "Show Me The Money" strategy, which
is perhaps why L.A. passed on him, as well as the Wolves.

uh-huh . . .that's why Casey was able to bench Jaric and Griffin, two
of McHale's big signings last sumer and 2/5ths of his expected starting
5.

Hmm. McHale ignoring a free agent? Unheard of!
Seriously, how much longer do I have to tolerate this ass-clown in the
front office? I've been calling for his head for what, 7-8 years now?
Jesus, Taylor, grow a pair of balls and make the changes.

I hear your sarcasm, and perhaps it's justified. In the case of Jaric,
ask yourself why McHale claimed Banks was the prize object of the
deal. To me, McHale must have lost faith in Marko by midseason.
In the case of EddieG, I can't think of anything more infuriating to
McHale than a big guy launching threes - especially when he shoots
a miserable percentage. The Wolves wanted EG to be a center, he
thought of himself as a PF. Eventually, it lead to extended pine time
and splinters on Eddie's heinie.

With James getting the exception, any dough "saved" is subject
to the luxury tax.
