Did I give you too much credit?

You completely missed the point!

The point was not that a coach without a ring could win over one who
has...

The point is that no coach should enter a situation where a team has
recently won a title when he himself has never done so.

Wasn't that Pat Riley's situation when he first got to LA?

I addressed your 'disrespect' point. ...so disrespectful they started 37-5,
second-best first half in NBA history, and set a franchise record for wins
and road wins, and had 4 starters go to the all-star game.

Question #1. Name those coaches that had won at least one championship
fitting your requirements that were avalaible at the time Brown said 'buy me
out' and Dumars hired Flip.... Does one in 1979 but mostly lottery teams
since then work for you?

You claim Dumars should not have hired Flip or any other coach that did not
have at least one championship.
It is a simple question. Name who should have been hired that was available
that had a championship.

Here I will help you and make the questions multible choice....

First who was NOT available in summer 2005:
Riles and Pop were not available in a lot more ways than under contract.
Phil Jackson had already re-signed and returned to the lakers while the
Pistons were still playing, two months before Brown forced the buy-out
claiming health reasons.

That leaves you 2 choices.... and then only if both would change their minds
about retiring.

A: Rudy Tomjanovich had 2 rings a decade before then the next 8 years made
the conference finals once and the lottery 4 times.
Current resume... 'lasted half a season' with the recent champion lakers and
had a melt down and quit... claimed 'health reasons'.

B: 69 year old Lenny Wilkins whose last trip to the finals was 1979 Sonics,
only other even 'division' first place finish in 25 years and last trip to a
CF was 1992 Cavs.
Current resume... lost 1st round 2002 , worst team in league with 24 wins
2003 and fired... hired mid season knicks swept first round 2004 and fired
after 39 games 17-22 in 2005.

So which available championship winning coach would you have hired? A or B?

Question #2 Name one available that had more experience and championships
than Riley, because that is who beat Flip, and according to you, Riley was
unbeatable anyway...but since it was Flip's fault and they would have done
better if the coach had a ring....

Who would have got them past Miami, Rudy or Lenny?

Worse, they were 11 games into the season when Westhead was fired.

Obviously not on the same page.

The introduction of Saunders is proven a bust.

I was right in that he shouldn't have been hired.

Was right when I said he should have been fired after the first season.

Was right when I said we'd never win a title with him at the helm.

Was right when I said Joe's only posponing the inevitable.

Was right when I said Flip was going to be fired this season.

I don't see where you have any leverage to offer conflict truly on the
matter at hand.
Saunders was a complete failure here.

3 Trips to the CFs and setting franchise records in the regular season does
not make a bust...nor does a 3 year stay.
The window was shutting on the aging players as much as the coach.

You are not right unless there was someone better available and Dumars
passed them up.
Yet you set criteria and refuse to answer who fits it...because no one does.

Question #1. Name those coaches that had won at least one championship

>Was right when I said Flip was going to be fired this season.

lol....You were wrong when you said he would not be hired....You were wrong
when you said he was going to be fired at mid seasion the first year, at the
end of the 1st year, by Xmas the 2nd year, by the all-star game...at the end
of the 2nd year...and by the allstar game this year... if this was basketbal
the score would be 2- 16 Dumars...

You can count on one hand the coaches with secure jobs in the league.
Three years is past the average stay for NBA coaches.
And the one most secure has the longest ride and never won a championship
despite having 2 HOF players.

Going to the EC finals 3 seasons in a row is not a bust. Goals
weren't reached (NBA championship) but that doesn't equal bust.

Nearly everyone on the planet thought that if Flip didn't go to the
NBA finals this season, he'd be let go. You were just one of many.

You are such an idiot. If Flip had a losing season 3 seasons in a
row; if Flip had led a lottery team 3 seasons in a row; if Flip had
led the team to a .500 record for 3 seasons, then you'd be right. He
didn't. You're wrong. You're an idiot.

LOL you simply don't have a stage to contest from.

Saunders is a bust should you be willing to accept it or not!
Personally LOL I don't care, his ass is out of here! Stevie Wonder
could have at least entered this team into no less than two NBA finals
with that roster considering how weak the East was...

So weak that 2 of the last 3 teams to eliminate Detroit are going to have
won championships. Assuming Boston doesn't choke this one away. The only
unforgivable loss was the Cavs series.

Terry Porter could have led this team....

Dave Cowens could have possibly had success....

Doug Collins would have given proper direction.

Certainly Bill Laimbeer could take us to the promise land....

And of course there is Stevie Wonder.

Nope you said they have to have coached a team to the champoinship. WNBA

Youn still have not said whio they should have hired instead of Flip...now
you like his assistants...

Get real! WNBA dosen't count?
We're looking for a WINNER, something Bill Laimbeer has done at every
level.
He also fits the needed profile, discipline, overcoming faults, plans
other routes to success, knows x's and o's, doesn't believe in failure
or adhere to the word can't.....Can communicate to players, can look at
Sheed from a position of authority because he holds multiple rings.
etc..

Terry Porter did a fine job coaching the Bucks when they had literally
nothing to utilize that's why I through his name in the hat.

Cowens comes from a winning organization, really can't understand why he
isn't already a head coach somewhere.

Collins had success in Chicago building the Bulls and it's ashame he was
robbed of the opportunity to enjoy those fruits and rings.
Jackson owes him a great debt. Jordan knew!
When Mike joined the Bullets as a player the first person he sought for
a coach was Doug Collins.
