Yeah that is why his teammate Zeke is a great coach...and his playoff record
is 5-10

That is not coaching a team to the nba Championship... which was your
criteria.......

Don Nelson has 5 rings as a player, has coached the 7th most playoff games
in nba history, and never won a conference championship to get to a finals.
And recently that was with a team with two HOF levels players and that went
to the finals.

2 available guys fit your criteria..... Kupchat must have thought like
you...so for player ring respect the lakers got Rudy T... who lasted 2
months... Dumars seems to to be smarter... but he was available so he and
Lenny Wilkins fit your criteria.
Which one should they have hired instead of Flip?

Fool!! Magic Johnson won, what, 6 rings with the Lakers and he was a
horrible NBA coach. Winning rings as a player does not equate to
being a good NBA coach.

Laimbeer was NOT available when Brown was "let go". That was in 2005
and Laimbeer was still under contract to the Shock to coach that
summer of 2005. His contract did end at the end of the WNBA season
but by then the Pistons had already signed Flip Saunders.
