Post subject: NBA Refereeing = boring game
Archived from groups: alt>sports>basketball>nba>chicago-bulls (more info?)

Watching tonight's game against the Knicks, the problem with the NBA
became clear to me...the refereeing. The plethora of ticky-tack fouls
that are called over the course of an NBA game makes for a very boring
brand of basketball that is tremendously frustrating to watch. The game
would be much better if the players were just allowed to play. It must
be incredibly frustrating for the players since they receive a
technical foul if they say anything to the referees following the
ridiculous foul calls.

I distinctly recall a foul called against P.J. Brown when Jamal
Crawford drove baseline. P.J. did not touch him but the foul was called
simply because Crawford fell to the floor. The referee just assumed
that he must have been fouled since he fell but in fact, Crawford just
tripped on his own.

The refereeing in college basketball is vastly superior and its no
wonder that college basketball is so much more popular the NBA these
days.

On a different note, its pretty clear to me that Hinrich is a point
guard and not a shooting guard. Therefore, he and Duhon should not be
in the backcourt together in my opinion. I would like to see Thabo
steal some of Duhon's minutes(35 minutes is a lot for Duhon). I think
its ridiculous that Thabo and Tyrus played so little tonight.
