Seattle extended a qualifying offer to Robert Swift.

Utah exercised their 08-09 option for Paul Millsap.

Utah extended a qualifying offer to C.J. Miles, making him a restricted
free agent.

Houston extended a qualifying offer to Carl Landry.

Washington signed Antawn Jamison to a 4 year, $50 million contract
extension.

Corey Maggette (LAC) opted out of his contract and is now a free agent.

Elton Brand (LAC) opted out of his contract and is now a free agent.

Baron Davis (GS) opted out of his contract and is now a free agent.

The LA Clippers extended qualifying offers to Nick Fazekas and Marcus
Williams.

Minnesota extended qualifying offers to Ryan Gomes, Chris Richard, and
Craig Smith.

year, $2,249,400 contract with 2 more years worth $3,352,125 at the team's
option.

Miami signed 1st round draft pick (#2) Michael Beasley to a 2 year,
$8,953,560 contract with 2 more years worth $11,224,587 at the team's
option.

The LA Clippers signed 1st round draft pick (#7) Eric Gordon to a 2 year,
$5,443,080 contract with 2 more years worth $6,847,864 at the team's
option.

Miami signed rookie free agents David Padgett and Jason Richards.

Earl Watson (Sea) suffered a fractured thumb and will undergo surgery on
Thursday. He is expected to be out 3 to 4 months.

The city of Seattle and Sonics have settled their litigation. The Sonics
will pay the city $45 million and the team will relocate to Oklahoma City
for 08-09.

The salary cap for 08-09 has been set at $58.68 million and the luxury tax
threshold has been set at $71.15 million for 08-09 [every dollar a team is
over the luxury tax has to be has to be paid to the league as a fine and
then that pool of money is redistributed back to the teams]. The
mid-level exception has been set at $5.585 million. The July moratorium
has ended and teams can now sign veteran free agents and make trades.

TRADE: Indiana traded Ike Diogu and the rights to Jerryd Bayless to
Portland for Jarrett Jack, Josh McRoberts, the rights to Brandon Rush, and
cash.

TRADE: Toronto traded T.J. Ford, Rasho Nesterovic, Maceo Baston, and the
rights to Roy Hibbert to Indiana for Jermaine O'Neal and the rights to
Nathan Jawai.

TRADE: Philadelphia traded Rodney Carney, Calvin Booth, a 1st round draft
pick, and cash to Minnesota for a future conditional 2nd round draft pick.

Philadelphia signed LA Clippers free agent Elton Brand to a 5 year, $79.8
million contract.

Miami signed Portland free agent James Jones to a 5 year, $23 million
contract with the last 3 years at Miami's option.

Miami signed 2nd round draft pick (#34) Mario Chalmers.

New Jersey signed 2nd round draft pick (#40) Chris Douglas-Roberts.

Portland signed 1st round draft pick (#11) Jerryd Bayless to a 2 year,

The NBA suspended Brad Miller for 5 games for violating the NBA's
anti-drug policy. The suspension will be served at the start of the 08-09
regular season.

The NBA suspended JamesOn Curry for 1 game for his guilty plea for
resisting an officer and public urination. The suspension will be served
at the start of the 08-09 regular season.

Houston signed San Antonio free agent Brent Barry to a 2 year contract.

Cleveland signed 1st round draft pick (#19) J.J. Hickson to a 2 year,
$2,758,680 contract with 2 more years worth $3,883,457 at the team's
option.

Golden State signed LA Clipper free agent Corey Maggette to a 5 year, $50
million contract.

Golden State signed restricted free agent Ronny Turiaf to a 4 year, $17
million offer sheet. The LA Lakers have 7 days to match the offer.
