I'm starting to get the 2003/2004 Lakers
(http://www.lakersuniverse.com/playoffs/roster2004.htm) vibe from this team.
I hope the Cs fail as miserably as those Lakers did.

Interesting observation, and spot on.

I don't think the two teams are even close. Karl Malone and Gary
Payton were barely distractions to the team. Cassell is still a very
capable player and Rondo has filled it fine up to this point. Ray-
Ray, Pierce and Garnett are still very good.

I'd like to see Boston fail too, but only if it's at the hands of my
Lakers.

Up to this point, no one thought the team would have a deep enough
bench to go far into the season. But they've proven me and a lot of
other people wrong. They did pretty well without Garnett. Their
bench has stepped up in a big way this season.

Personally I love what they've done. It doesn't feel the same was as
it did with the Lakers where they picked up some guys for a "last
hurrah" type of thing. Cassell still has a lot of game left. PJ
Brown.. I couldn't care less about. He'll play a minor role in the
end of things.

Also, all these guys they're signing at the last minute are role
players. When the Lakers picked up Payton and Malone, these guys were
future hall-of-famers and they were boasting about this. Whereas
Boston is just adding final pieces.

Bah, I dunno.

I think the point of the comparison was the parchuting of veteran
players to go for the gold, and in that, he was spot on. I ain't no
Celtics fan. I hate the bastids.

You make interesting points too. And I agree about Sam, he is VERY
dangerous.
