True. But then my impression every time I saw them this year was
that they had a very mediocre half-court offense - one of the
best running games and delayed-break offenses in the league but
really, really mediocre in the halfcourt. Is it really all
that big a surprise that they couldn't execute in the half
court when trying to eat clock in the biggest pressure
situation all year? I didn't think so. Most of the shots they
took were pretty good ones given the great defense Georgetown
was playing. They just missed em.

I think what Donnire's getting at is that when an offense
is playing badly it's getting lousy (or no) shots.
Carolina was getting (mostly) decent shots - they just weren't
making them. That's not really a lack of offensive
execution. Nerves, maybe. Luck, maybe. The execution
wasn't really all that bad.

No they weren't.

The real world? That would be the one where the best team in the ACC
that year kicked UNC's ass all over the court.

Before you throw your arm out patting yourself on the back, you might note
that there are much bigger awards available than just POTD and POTW.
There's POTM, POTY, POT*D* (decade), POTC, POT*M* (millenium), POTI. I suggest
winning at least one of those before trying for lifetime achievement
awards.

I don't think I've seen anything past POTY. It's gonna be really hard to
get POTI. Like you'd actually have to win a Nobel for your Usenet post.
