So since you are an obvious Kobe hater answer this...does Shaq get three NBA
Championship rings if Kobe had not been there? >> Stay informed about: Payton "I ain't coming back" |

Yes. Me.
I understand that this last year has tarnished Payton's reputation, and his
best years were played tucked away in the Northwest, but consider if you
will that for a stretch of years that Payton was arguably the best player at
his position in the league on *both* sides of the ball. Add to that his
defensive player of the year award (very rare for a guard, even more rare
for a point guard), his strong statistics, his two Finals appearances, and
the fact that he played at an extremely high level for a long time, and you
have a HOF member. IMO, anyway.
There are compelling arguments against him as well, and he probably won't be
a unanimous choice, but this isn't Tim Hardaway or Mark Jackson we're
talking about here. Gary Payton's body of work is very strong.
Cheers,
Chris Hafner >> Stay informed about: Payton "I ain't coming back" |

The guy should be happy to be making as much money as he is, given his
diminished skills. He is in no position to demand anything. >> Stay informed about: Payton "I ain't coming back" |

Please Gary, please, opt out, buy out, get waived, anything to make you
happy.
I am not impressed with neither your attitude nor playing skills at this
point in your career.
I liked you a lot when you were in Seattle, but it seems that you are a
different player now. >> Stay informed about: Payton "I ain't coming back" |

Pretty straight forward. Malone,
Payton, Horry, Rodney Rogers, Toni Kukoc.
Players love playing with Shaq. They don't
seem to feel that way about Kobe.

Didn't Horry have some harsh words for Kobe AND Shaq on his way out of
town. They're both selfish babies. Fortunately they were able to get
past that for at least a few years. Too bad they never grew up. >> Stay informed about: Payton "I ain't coming back" |

He tutored Kobe at one point some years ago, but
he probably wasn't the whiny bitch then that he
seems to be now. >> Stay informed about: Payton "I ain't coming back" |

Booth for GP. Salaries match and it would be pretty funny for him to end up
back in Seattle at the mid-level since he was leaving becasue they would not
give him a big extension.

GP does not have the rings but it reminds me of the Houston fans judged
Pippen only on his year in Houston when the 3 HOFs were supposed to make
noise. He was lost in Rudy Ts offense. 4 years later they still booed Pip
every time he touched the ball.

That dog won't hunt. Players are lining up for the chance
to play with Shaq. The Kobe line is looking pretty empty..... >> Stay informed about: Payton "I ain't coming back" |
