Hanover, N.H. - A poor shooting first half was too much for Penn to
overcome as the Quakers drop a decision to Dartmouth, 64-49, at
Leede Arena on Friday night.

Penn (15-11, 8-5 Ivy) suffered through 10 minutes, six seconds of
the first half without a field goal. During that same time,
Dartmouth (15-9, 11-1 Ivy) mounted a 19-4 run to hold a 31-15
advantage heading into the locker room. Monica Naltner scored
the Quakers' first six points, bringing the Red and Blue to within
at 7-6 at the 13:55 mark of the first half. The sophomore was
fouled on a lay up and hit her free throw. Karen Habrukowich hit
Penn's next field goal at the 3:49 mark when she too was fouled on
a scored lay up and made good on her free throw.

Dartmouth took advantage of Penn's 17.2 percent shooting (5-for-29)
and 12 personal fouls, shooting 42.9 percent (9-for-21) and 73.3
percent(11-for-15) from the charity stripe. Sydney Scott and
Jeannie Cullen paced Dartmouth with eight points apiece during the
first frame. Sophomore center Elise Morrison led all scorers with
17 points for the game. She also grabbed 10 boards for her ninth
double-double of the season. Ashley Taylor (14) and Jeannie Cullen
(12) also finished in double figures.

The Quakers pulled to within 10 points twice during the second half,
once at 34-24 on a Jenna Markoff lay up and again at 57-47 on an
Ashley Gray lay up. Habrukowich led Penn with 11 points. Her
second trey of the game tied her with Princeton's Maureen Lane
(1999-2003) for fourth on the Ivy League all-time three-point list
at 192.

Penn closes out the season at Harvard on Saturday night at Lavietes
Pavilion. The tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
