Musselman is gone. Wasn't his fault. He had a gimpy center that was
mostly absent. I shooting PG with a messed up hand, that really
didn't shoot well. And he had an absloute lunatic as his best
player. He had two PF that had major flaws in their game. One could
score and rebound, but played no defense (Sharif), the other could
shoot but had no post game (Thomas).
I think if Muss ever gets a job with a real team he can be a good
coach. I think Muss may want to take some courses in PR or Sales
because his players NEVER have his back. At least you are in the Oden/
Durant lottery....

I pretty much agree with your assessment. I think Petrie is more to blame
than Muss. One minor disagreement about the PFs. Sar could not rebound.
He has bad knees so he cannot jump. KT could rebound but could not do much
else.

Since pointing of fingers has started, lets not forget about the
Maloofs here. In my observation they have slowly started to take over
the basketball operations from Petrie which has been concurrent with a
declining record over the last 5 years. Yes part is Petries fault
because there was more he should have done. But I wouldn't put to much
on Petrie. Muss made very poor coaching decisions here and couldn't
get the support of the players. He had to go, the kings had no choice.

Maybe so, but after one year? That means it was a bad hire, no?
Who's fault was that? Muss didn't forget how to coach in one year.
Well, looking at the bright side of things, Kings fans should be
thankful for:
1) Bonzi wells turned down the stupid contract offer (was that Petrie
or Maloofs, because whoever made the offer should be fired)
2) You have a shot at some great prospects in a very very deep draft.
3) You still have a bargaining chip to move up in the draft (Bibby)
4) You have a very strong SG and some good role players to build
around that are young.

Yes, a bad hire done by the Maloofs. Muss wasn't Petries guy.

It was a great offer, the only blame here is Bonzi's ex-agent (who he
fired!).

Wait a minute. So your saying that Bonzi turned down the offer because
it was to much. Had the kings offered less Bonzi still would have
walked. Your logic here makes no sense. The kings put down the max
money for Bonzi and HE turned it down. So the money went to Salmons
instead.

John,
When did I say Bonzi turned it down because it was too much? Don't
put words in my mouth please. I said the offer was way too much. He
took much less in Houston than what Sacramento offered him. I am
saying they shouldn't have offered Bonzi that money in the first
place. You can see how he performed for Houston. I am very well
aware of the fact that Bonzi walked. Bonzi is an idiot, which I have
known since his Portland days. I'm saying offering him a big contract
is stupid. Read what I wrote. My logic makes PERFECT sense.

He turned it down cause he wanted more. Then he waited and got
screwed by a much smaller contract offer (the only one out
there).....He thought there would be a bidding war. kings were
bidding only against themselves at the big price. They got lucky he
thought he was a superstar. Understand now?

Kings lucked up on Bonzi, I agree with you. I think the Kings are two
years away from playoffs unless they get lucky in the lottery. I
think Miller's foot problems will persist and ruin his career as it
has with many a big man (Walton, Borchardt, MacCulloh etc). So you're
building around Martin and Bibby (Unless he's traded), Artest (unless
he's released/retired).. Not much to go on, however if Artest retires
and Miller retires, you will have some money to play the market and
Petrie has made some good moves in FA in the past, just not recently,
so chin up.

your right about the time frame thing. It does depend on the draft. If
Miller can heal quickly, however, they could be in next year. SI just
picked Garcia as a player to have a breakout season next year, kind of
like Martin. Who BTW was second in voting for most improved.
