Phoenix Suns will win 55 games and make playoffs

The Phoenix Suns will be fun to watch in 2004. I predict a 55-win
season and a berth in the Western Conference Finals. As I write this,
Phoenix is finishing up a 6-1 pre-season record and is currently
on top of Sacramento 74-46 at the half (in Sacramento).

This team reminds me of the 1988-89 Suns squad with Tom Chambers,
Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle and Jeff Hornacek.

Phoenix scored 43 points -- in the 2nd quarter -- against Sacramento.
They also destroyed Utah by 40+ points (the score was 107-67, I
believe).

Steve Nash is fun to watch, and Quinten Richardson is just the
three-point shooter the Suns have needed since Hornacek and Majerle
left. Amare Stoudemire is an absolute monster; he reminds me of Moses
Malone in his tenacious rebounding and put backs. And Marion is still
Marion.

I also like the Suns other point guard (Barbosa). He's quick and
agile, and will make a great replacement for Steve Nash once he
retires.

All in all, this is a quick and talented basketball team. I don't
foresee anything less than 50+ wins, unless they have major injury
problems. This team has Western Conference Finals written all over it.
