Post subject: Pierce's MRI
Archived from groups: alt>sports>basketball>nba>boston-celtics (more info?)

He had a sprained MCL and a bone bruise, according to Ainge. Normally
a mild MCL sprain will put you out for a week or so. Plaxico Burress
played pretty well in a Superbowl with a sprained MCL, so it's not
like playing with one is unprecedented, but it's fairly gutsy.

TrueHoop called this back at the time of the injury:

http://myespn.go.com/blogs/truehoop/0-32-292/Paul-Pierce-s-Knee--Throu...the-Eye

"Such a sprain would normally keep a player out for a week or so,
says Dr. DiNubile, but would likely heal of its own accord."

Wasn't Willis Reed; wasn't faking.
