If the Piston organization is not severely punished too the NBA will be
disgraced. The Pacers deserve what they got but don't forget the Pistons!
Piston fans are a disgrace to the USA! You should be ashamed Piston fans. If
you are even half decent you will demand just punishment for the Piston
organization!

I guess you'd have to punish Philadelphia, Boston, New York ect. ect.
Things would have gone the same in most cities. The stupid reaction of
one Detroit fan throwing a cup of water is exactly what you might
expect in many cities around the US given the situation. If Artest
wouldn't of exposed himself as a bulls eye and taunt the crowd by
laying on the table and playing innocent then a cup of water probably
never would of been thrown.

Artest should of done what any reasonable person would of done.
He should of had security remove and/or prosecute the culprit.

He should not of been taunting. He should not of been jumping into the
crowd. He should not of picked a fan at random and bully him. That is
where the real problem started. The fans reaction to his bullying and
his teammates taking punches at other fans is what caused this mayhem.

No.

Ron Artest did not give security any opportunity to handle the unruly fan.
He lunged into the stands creating a riot. Nobody could prevent someone
from throwing a plastic cup. Had Ron Artest simply pointed to the offending
individual, security would have grabbed him promptly and there would have
been no situation. Artest instead chose to charge and in doing so,
endangered himself, his teammates, and his organization. I feel no mercy
for the fans that were involved. If you throw something at a man twice your
size, you should be prepared for the consequences. No lawsuits should be
heard on the mess as it is doubtful anyone involved was blameless but never
forget the riot was caused by Artest.

M.L. Carr - a Celtic - had a cup of urine - yes, a cup of PISS, thrown
on him in Indy one time ... luckily he had no choice but to "take it"
<remain on bench> .... but....should the INDY fans have been
fined"..??.. works both ways.

Piston fans have already been punished, long ago, in that they
have to live anywhere near Detroit. I was there just this summer
for a Tigers game. The city is still a wretched ghost town, despite
rumors of an influx of money and an economic "recovery." It's
a turd bowl. It amazes me to think that it was probably worse a
few years ago.

Detroit used to be a great city, matter of fact,at its high point it
was 'one of' the greatest cities the world had known. But,when the
people that make a place great are replaced by other 'people' that place
reflects the 'new' peoples value and culture.Detroit was a great
industrial city, but when the people who made it great left, the new
residents were not able(or capable) to maintain what once was a
productive city. Most of the large cities suffer from this same
problem. When the civilized, cultured, educated people left and were
replaced by mongrels the social decay follows.AND of course we blame
those who left......

It's not enough to treat people equally, they must be MADE equal-
Socialsts thinking.
