quiet in the streets as more than 18,000 Lakers fans celebrated the team's
third straight NBA title.

Joyous and mostly peaceful fans danced and slapped high-fives outside the
arena Wednesday after the Lakers wrapped up their finals sweep with a 113-
107 victory over the Nets in New Jersey.

About a dozen arrests were made in the downtown area, including several
for
assault on police officers, Beck said, adding that there were reports of
minor vandalism inside the arena.

Chin is saying that Laker fans are more passionate than Celtic fans.
He's right. But then, you cannot blame Celtic fans. It's hard to get
passionate about a team when 9 of the 15 men on the roster were not on
the team last year and when 5 of them turn out to be absolutely critical
to the team's success. Maybe next year, if the Celtics win it again,
they'll be able to arrest 50 or even 100 roudy fans.
