Have you ever been less excited about a Timberwolves season?

I'll kick it off: No.

I know it won't surprise many of you, but I am looking forward to this
season, bigtime. I am excited about James and want to see if he can be
the point guard and clutch scorer the Wolves need. I am excited about
Foye and watching him develop. The recent articles on Blount, Eddie
and Davis make me think there is hope for these three players. Also,
KG seems to have a really good attitude about he upcoming season.

It *could* be a fun season of Wolves basketball . . .

Actually, yes.

The worst in my memory was the anticipation of the 1992/1993 season.

After the Wolves finished the 91/92 season with a league worst record of
15-67, they made the draft pick of Christian Laettner (high on my list of all-time
least favorite T-Wolves players...and not just because I hate Duke) after
failing to get the #1 overall pick (despite the NBA worst record). Who was
the #1 pick in that draft? Shaq. F**k!

I went into that season KNOWING it was going to be another lottery-bound
season. They finished 19-63 that season.

Remember that the Wolves have the infamous record of being the ONLY
team in history to lose 60 or more games in 4 straight seasons from 91-95.

So, in comparison, these Wolves look MUCH better than the Wolves of those
early years. At least this roster has a CHANCE of making the playoffs again...
and that's enough to keep this fan interested.

I'm probably not as optimistic as you, Krush (who is around here?),
but I am going into this season with a little guarded optimism as it
starts.

It's a new lineup that should be interesting, if nothing else, to watch
as they try to gel and come together as a team. That could prove for
some fun nights of basketball (and probably a few duds along the way
as well).

But the bottom line is that I'm ready to start watching some hoops again
and hoping for the best.

Ditto.

The team is just a huge bunch of question marks.
Almost every player has a least one big question that needs
to be answered in the affirmative for the Wolves to make
it to the playoffs, and maybe advance a round or two.

1) KG - will he remain healthy?
2) Blount - will he become an effective rebounder?
3) Davis - will he apply himself to defense?
4) Hassell - will his offense continue to improve?
5) James - will he be an effective, team oriented PG?

6) Hudson - will he stay healthy?
7) Griffin - will he avoid Demon Rum?
8) Foye - will he be effective at PG?
9) Smith - will the refs let him play?
10) Jarics - will he keep the faith?

11) Reed - can he step his game up another notch?
12) Vin Baker - will he contribute *on the court*?

I see the Wolves as 10% better. Therefore, they will win 4-5 more games than
last year.

Hopefully, none of the other teams in the entire NBA improved themselves in
the offseason.
