you know nothing about lebron. Silas disagrees with you and I'd take his
word over yours, not to mention that I actually watch LeBron play and you
appear to be judging him purely by his size.

okay, I'm sorry. I was judging Lebron James on size. I guess he is one
of those Magic Johnson type giant point guards!
I thought they just played him at point because they don't have any
point guards.

true true true on every level, but you answered what he needs to do. Stay
healthy. That'll allow him to get in the flow. He needs to get consistent
minutes on a consistent basis. He really hasn't had much of a chance to
learn, grown, and flourish and I do believe his best days are ahead of him.

he's hungry to learn and earn minutes. like you preach, he has to earn the
minutes and he's had his moments.

I wasn't really speaking of this year, just thinking in the future when we
have a healthy SG, a Good center, and have woods/mcinnis rotating off the
bench getting 20-30 minutes a night. no, neither will be considered this ye
ar. McInnis's best production has been as a starter since bonzi's been gone
and DA's hurt, but that'll change. maybe next year when if he gets solid
minutes off the bench. He's another Bobby Jackson type of player. I think
McInnis is a fun player to watch ... he has his moments. and yea, I can't
wait till Woods develops.

One guy we haven't talked about is outlaw. He's a good athlete himself. I
think I've only seen him in the lineup once. Is he hurt or just that raw?
I liked that selection. He could be another good guy for portland someday.

I just think Step could be a good presence in the paint who has fresher legs
than Dale. And I don't figure we're stuck with DA, I think we just need him
healthy and getting 35+ minutes a night.... someday you may change your mind
about him. His head needs to be deflated a bit and maybe all that's
happened this year has brought him down to earth a bit, but the fact that we
kept him and got rid of Bonzi may have inflated him a little more. we'll
see.

I think he is a Penny type. His best days will be left in surgery. he should
get the back surgery and forget this year. Instead it will drag on another
couple of months and he will be slower getting back next season.

How long has he been in the league? This is his 3rd year in Portland and he
has been a waste so far. Hurt, out, whining....overpaid....I say if they get
him healthy and playing well trade him quick....

swingman is defined as a player that plays both guard and forward. I posted
a half dozen cites of that with links when you defined it for me. =) google
it.

Many people have called Jamison a legit swingman. I believe you even said
so yourself. It don't matter to me... it's all academic. If you don't
want to call a PF/SF or PF/C a swingman, that's your prerogative. Only on
usenet would anyone be so concerned over a technicality. The majority of
basketball fans understand what is meant by swing and i don't know anyone
that refers to only SF/SG as swingmen and the rest whatever. I guess that's
the same as calling the blazers us or we. it may not be an exact science,
an exact definition, but it's implied and understood. so there. lol

Find an article that refers to hinm a a swing(besides the name of the nike
gear) Players like Bonzi, Carter, and Finley are more usually refered to as
swing. It uis not a term to designate a versitile player, it refers to
playing the 2 similar positions of SG/SF.

I doubt it. I think of him as a forward.

No one like the people who post glosseries for referees etc....=)

Not the same at all.

Sure, it is easy to discuss a subject with using different definitions of
words so we can be well understood. And surely the proper usage should be
ignored and whatever sounds good used instead. =)

What else shall we re-name?

what is the difference between "umpire" and "referee"? they both play
similar positions. does that make them "swingmen"?
