That you would think it's a "straight-ahead business thing" is _exactly_ my
point. It's also my opinion that Stern would have _not_ suspended a white
player for the remainder of the season because a white player would not have
generated the multitudes of charges that the NBA is full of thugs,
criminals, drug abusers and is the banner waver for the Hip-hop culture.
IOW, these people start bleating this non-sense every time there is an
incident in the NBA involving a Black player, yet they don't even watch the
NBA. Somehow, Stern lets their voice effect his reasoning and define the
league. The fine on Artest is a defensive move by Stern when he should have
been on the offense the last 5 years.

Listen here, if you throw a cup of beer on _any_ man, you should that man to
react unkindly to you. It goes back to Stern and his Public Relations
disaster with the NBA that gives these idiot fans the notion that could come
into an arena and start insulting players in the most vile, disgusting way
imaginable. The NBA needs to codes of conduct for fans and fans to abide by
them. They have no right to throw things at players or curse them and it's
ludicrous that an NBA player be fined 5 million dollars for reacting to an
incident where he was struck by an object throw by a fan.

Psycho-babble.
