No fan of Bush

To say that Rasheed Wallace is less than thrilled to be meeting President
George W. Bush on Monday is an understatement.

When asked about the Pistons' trip to the White House, Wallace said, "I
ain't going to say (nothing) to him. I didn't vote for him. I'm not excited
at all, it's just part of the thing."

OK then.

"He ain't lying, either," Billups said. "He won't say nothing to him."

Missing Elden

Pistons players and coaches, some of whom had spoken to him, expect that
Elden Campbell will report to the Nets, eventually.

"It's one of those things," Ben Wallace said. "He wanted to come back here
but he knew before it happened that there was a chance he could end up
someplace else.

"You know, his kids are in school here and he wanted to come back, but it's
just one of those things."

The Knicks are 2-11 since point guard Stephon Marbury publicly declared
himself the league's best point guard.

I am sure George is just torn to pieces that one of the NBA's biggest thugs
and who has contributed the drug trade will not shake his hand.

Biggest thugs? Rasheed may be a lot of things but I've never equated him to
being a "thug".

In 1963, as Washington was deepening its commitment in Vietnam, Soviet
Premier Nikita Khrushchev made a telling remark to a U.S. official.

"If you want to, go ahead and fight in the jungles of Vietnam,"
Khrushchev said. "The French fought there for seven years and still had
to quit in the end. Perhaps the Americans will be able to stick it out
for a little longer, but eventually they will have to quit, too."

Maybe George can talk to him about it. I'm sure they can find some common
ground.

"Hey, Rasheed, don't you love the feeling you get when you just go over and
take something from someone you know can't fight back, and you feel like
Godzilla stomping on all those plastic Japanese soldiers? Isn't that the
best? It's one of the reasons I let Uncle Dicky talk me into--"

"Man, why don't you pick on someone your own size?"

"Oh. Well... say Rasheed, don't you hate it when you've done so much blow
that your nose is bleeding like the fourth week of Lilith Fair -- and you're
all out of kleenex! I remember this one time, me and Liddy were out on t--"

"Man, I don't do cocaine."

On second thought, maybe they don't have any common ground.

Thanks to Doug Stanhope for the Lilith Fair line.

I am sure... Like "Sheed if your going to throw a temper tantrum and not
speak I am going to make you go sit in the corner with Barney"

Sheed "It's not fair. I voted for Kerry. I'm not talking to you!"

I think the only regret dubya has when shaking hands with someone who he
thinks is a drug dealer is when he comes away empty handed.
