after Minnesota game, Nate say:

"McMillan said Randolph will regain his starting power forward spot
today in Chicago, when the Blazers' four-game trip concludes, but that
he will have to improve his defense.

"He did some good things, but defensively, we have to work on that
area," McMillan said. "We need him to work and focus on that, because
teams are going at him."

Indeed, the Blazers defense was the biggest difference from the past
three games, when Randolph was away. McMillan was particularly upset
with the pick-and-roll rotations, especially late in the game, when
rookie Randy Foye repeatedly drove the lane for easy layins.

"Our pick-and-roll defense was not good tonight," McMillan said. "Late
in that ball game Randy goes to the basket three or four times on a
simple pick and roll . . . just untouched."

Holy Shit!!....it's only taken the coach 2 years to realize what the
rest of the league has known for 4 years??....that zach is probably
the worst starting front-line defender in the league?

defense is about effort and focus....to this point in zach's career,
he's given neither when he doesn't have the ball in his hand

a lot of players have major flaws and they never change. The blazers
have had plenty of experience confirming that.

maybe zach and Darius Miles will come back next year having changed
their stripes. I'm betting against it.

FWIW, I agree with you 100% on this point, I'm just continuing to
ignore reality too. : )
