Only assuming the other team still has eligible players.

Funny how these things change. I remember in '84 thinking of UCLA as
a thing of the past, and Kansas as not really being on a level with
UNC, Kentucky, and Indiana. Duke was our biggest rival, but they
definitely wouldn't have made the above list, and there were still
bumper stickers in Chapel Hill saying "Teach a child to hate State."
After all, State had 2 national championships and Duke none. People
were talking about Georgetown as if they were already in the pantheon
and just trying to get settled.

I know what you mean. I'm not complaining about being in the same
bracket with Georgetown. If that game happens, it'll have some buzz.

But first we have to avoid taking USC for granted.

First, I said "at least" because while I could argue for other teams, I can
argue for UNC best, so I decided to leave it at that. Second, I said
they'd have to have their best day to beat KU on *their* best day. I
honestly believe that there isn't a team in the country that can beat UNC
if they play their absolute best basketball for an entire game, and I'm
fairly certain there are few folks who have seen much of them and other top
teams who would disagree.

The obvious caveat is that they have yet to play their best game and
haven't yet really come that close to it. So will they when they need to?
Possibly not. Therein lies the nugget that shows I'm not woofing at all.

Ball State. Great name, decent tradition ... and Letterman.
