Heard this on KFAN this morning, reported by Rosen. He said most
insiders know that Wally and KG were having problems again. It came to
a boiling point recently. Rex Chapman, who was a major factor in
getting this trade done, is gaining more and more clout in the
organization. There had been problems with certain players, and he sat
the team down and asked what the problem was. Wally walked out of the
room. That may have sealed the deal for Wally.

I wonder if the Wolves offered Wally in the Artest talks. It was
reported that Indiana wanted him, but McHale would not include Wally.
If this is true, bad move on McHales part. I would have much rather
have had Artest, even with the baggage.

I feel like I know what the Wolves are getting in Davis. A like his
offensive game. He's the type of slasher the Wolves have needed for
quite some time. I never really payed attention to his defense, but I
hear good things, except I also hear he has mental lapses from time to
time. Like I said before, the Wally for Davis part of the deal is
*not* what has me pissed off. It's Blount and the first rounder that
has me hopping mad.
I shrewd GM would not have given up so much.

I've always though some of Wally's complaints were warranted,
especially with regards to KG.

You mean like KG providing more assists to Wally than *anyone*
else on the team last year?

And also to KG's credit, he never came out and "tattled" on
whatever Wally said to him that pushed Kevin over the line.
I seriously doubt that it was trivial.

Hell, I wish we got to know all that kind of stuff - especially
in politics. On the other hand, so few of the hoi polloi can
actually handle the truth - or live under it's light.

Indiana did want Wally's long term deal. They wanted young or expiring
contracts. Peja might be good again but if not, his contract's up this
year. Donnie Walsh talked to Chad Ford of ESPN.com after the deal and
essentially said the Clippers and Kings were the only teams the Pacers
got very far with.

That reminds me . . .Banks contract is up after this season. If he
ends up being even hasl as good as he looked against Boston, I hope
they can resign him.

<grin> What we know is that Blount must contribute if the
Wolves are to make any noise - his paycheck decrees
that he will play.

The good news there is that if the wolves give Banks a raise
then Casey will be able to play him. It's becoming
painfully clear (Hudson) that the guys getting paid have to
be played whether they deserve the time or not.
